Baccarat may seem a little intimidating if you are new to online casino world. It’s designed to look that way, but if you read our basic rules, you’ll realize it’s a very simple game to play. In order to maximize your enjoyment, here are a few tips for you to follow.
Never bet the tie
When playing baccarat in an online casino you can bet on the player, the banker or a tie. The odds on the banker are slightly better, but some players would rather bet on their own hand. The choice is up to you. Please note that you should never bet on the tie. Although it may seem tempting with odds 7 to 1 and sometimes 8 to 1 the house edge on this bet is over 14%, compared to around 1% when you are betting on the player or the banker.
Keep track of commission
For every winning banker bet, the player must pay the casino 5% commission. Make sure you keep track of these commissions, especially in a live casino as the dealer will collect them either at the end of the shoe or when the player leaves the table. You want to make sure you have enough money to pay before you leave.
Don’t follow the trends
Some online casinos will provide sheets that you can use to keep track of how often the banker or player wins. It is not advisable to worry about these trends. Placing bets when you think the player or the dealer is “due” to win will not improve your chances.
